About Bermuda
Bermuda is a compact, English-speaking British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic, roughly 650 miles east of the U.S. mainland. For milestone travelers it offers pink-sand beaches, UNESCO-listed St. George's, and a dignified, walkable island culture without the pushy resort feel of the Caribbean. Cruise access is primarily from U.S. East Coast homeports, with overnight calls that reward independent travelers who use the ferry and bus systems.
Typical routes
- Northeast U.S. round-trips from New York, Boston, or Baltimore, typically 6–8 days with two or three calls in Bermuda.
- Longer repositioning, transatlantic, and small-ship itineraries that include Bermuda as one mid-ocean stop.
Ports overview
Bermuda has three official cruise calling points: Royal Naval Dockyard (King's Wharf), Hamilton, and St. George's. Because of Bermuda's reef line and narrow channels, ship calls are highly weather-dependent; docking versus tendering depends on vessel size and conditions. Many lines use King's Wharf as a homeport.
Cruise season
Late April through October, with May–September as the most reliable window. Some ships call in March, November, and December, but weather and sea conditions can disrupt tender ports.
