About Cyprus

Cyprus is an island of layered history, warm hospitality, and clear Mediterranean light. It is not a river-cruise destination, but it appears on many Eastern Mediterranean ocean and small-ship itineraries, with Limassol as the principal port and Paphos as a scenic tender stop. Travelers will appreciate manageable distances, UNESCO sites, excellent food, and the chance to explore at their own pace. The main trade-offs are the island's unresolved political division, limited cruise infrastructure outside Limassol, and the fact that many calls are only one day long.

Typical routes

  • Classic Eastern Mediterranean & Holy Land
  • Aegean & Cyprus Small-Ship

Ports overview

Cyprus is primarily a port of call rather than a homeport for international cruise lines. Limassol is the main deep-water cruise terminal, Larnaca serves as a secondary gateway, and Paphos is a picturesque tender stop for smaller ships. There are no cruise calls in Northern Cyprus.

Cruise season

March–November; April–June and September–October are best for comfortable sightseeing and reliable seas.
