About Turks And Caicos Islands
Turks and Caicos is a low-lying British Overseas Territory known for Grace Bay Beach, one of the world's great barrier-reef systems, and easy access from the US. Most cruise visitors arrive at Grand Turk's Carnival-built pier; the less-visited Caicos cays and Salt Cay reward travelers who trade the resort bubble for small-group excursions. Expect US dollars, English, high prices, hurricane-season risk, and a genuinely wild ocean environment.
Typical routes
- Florida round-trip Eastern Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, usually 4–9 nights, with Grand Turk as a one-day beach-and-history call.
- Small-ship and expedition voyages that island-hop through the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, using tenders and possibly visiting Grand Turk, Salt Cay, Providenciales, and South Caicos.
Ports overview
The only deep-water cruise pier in Turks and Caicos is at Grand Turk. Salt Cay and Providenciales appear on small-ship itineraries as tender stops, while South Caicos is an occasional expedition or yacht call. Grand Turk is the standard call for Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America, Norwegian, Princess, and MSC.
Cruise season
High season November–April; cruise calls peak November–March; whale watching January–April; hurricane season June–November.
