  1. Day 1

    Dunedin

Your ship docks at Port Chalmers, a compact harbour town about 13 kilometres from Dunedin. Dunedin reflects Scottish roots and gold-rush prosperity. Granite and sandstone buildings frame the centre; its ornate railway station is a standout. The Otago Peninsula offers chances to see royal albatross, penguins and fur seals. Visit a wildlife centre, or follow the peninsula road to Larnach Castle and harbour viewpoints. It is a rewarding port for architecture, wildlife and coastal views.

  2. Day 2

    At Sea (At Sea)

  3. Day 3

    Enderby Island NZ

Enderby Island is a remote outpost in the Auckland Islands, nearly 460 kilometres south of New Zealand’s South Island. Expedition ships bring visitors ashore at Sandy Bay, where Hooker’s sea lions gather beside rare yellow-eyed penguins. Walk carefully through wind-shaped rata forest and open tussock, watching for albatross overhead. Strict biosecurity protects this wildlife sanctuary, free of introduced mammals since 1993.

  4. Day 4

    At Sea (At Sea)

  5. Day 7

    Ross Island Antarctica

Ross Island is Antarctica at its most consequential: a stark volcanic outpost beside the Ross Sea. Mount Erebus rises above McMurdo Sound, an active volcano on the island’s skyline. Historic huts recall the expeditions of Scott and Shackleton, whose journeys began from this remote shore. Adélie penguins and seals inhabit nearby waters, though sightings are never guaranteed. Weather and sea ice govern access; this is an expedition landing, not a conventional port call.

  6. Day 15

    At Sea (At Sea)

  7. Day 18

    Macquarie Island Tasmania, Australia

Port Macquarie sets the Hastings River beside a long sweep of Pacific coast. Follow the coastal walk past beaches, headlands and the historic Tacking Point Lighthouse, first lit in 1879. At the Koala Hospital, learn about local conservation and the work of rescuing injured koalas. The town began as a penal settlement in 1821; its colonial past still lends character to the riverfront. Come for a relaxed port day with good walking, wildlife and a distinctly Australian coastal outlook.

  8. Day 19

    At Sea (At Sea)

  9. Day 20

    Snares Islands NZ

South of Stewart Island, the Snares rise from the Southern Ocean in a sweep of dark rock and wind-shaped forest. This protected island group is a major New Zealand seabird sanctuary. It is home to the endemic Snares crested penguin and breeding colonies of petrels. Landings are prohibited, so visitors take in the islands from ship or small boat. Expect salt spray, seabird calls and a rare glimpse of nature left largely undisturbed.

  10. Day 21

    At Sea (At Sea)

  11. Day 22
