  1. Day 1

    Piraeus-Athens, Greece

Piraeus is Athens’ working harbour, not a resort port—and that is its appeal. From here, the capital’s ancient landmarks are within reach, while the waterfront keeps its own busy, distinctly Greek character. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, then linger over grilled fish in Mikrolimano, a small harbour lined with tavernas. Metro connections make central Athens straightforward. Or stay near the water and watch ferries depart for the islands.

  2. Day 3

    Dikili, Turkey

Dikili brings you to Turkey’s quieter Aegean shore, where pine-fringed hills meet clear water and a relaxed harbour town. Its greatest prize lies inland: Bergama, ancient Pergamon, about 30 kilometres away. Explore the Acropolis, the remains of a celebrated library, and the Asclepieion, once a major healing sanctuary. Back in Dikili, stroll the waterfront, swim at a nearby beach, or linger over fresh seafood before returning aboard.

  3. Day 4

    Lemnos Island, Greece

Lemnos feels distinct from Greece’s better-known islands: broad, windswept and shaped by volcanic hills. At Myrina, the island’s main town, a medieval castle rises above a handsome harbour and two sandy bays. Beyond town, visit the prehistoric settlement of Poliochni, then follow quiet roads to vineyards, fishing villages and long beaches. Local kitchens make excellent use of kalathaki cheese and fresh seafood. Lemnos rewards travellers who prefer substance, space and an unhurried Aegean day.

  4. Day 5

    Skiathos Island, Greece

Skiathos is the lively gateway to Greece’s Northern Sporades, where pine forests reach down to bright, clear water. Its harbour and whitewashed old town invite an easy wander, past cafés and the house museum of novelist Alexandros Papadiamantis. Beyond town, more than 60 beaches range from well-served Koukounaries to quieter coves. Come ashore ready for a swim, a long lunch and an island afternoon.

  5. Day 6

    Skopelos Island, Greece

Skopelos arrives in layers: fishing boats at the harbour, whitewashed houses climbing the hillside, and pine-covered slopes beyond. On this Sporades island, the old town’s lanes lead to small churches, courtyards and views across the Aegean. Beyond the port, beaches and coves reward a drive; Agios Ioannis Kastri rises above the sea on a rocky headland.

  6. Day 7

    Poros Island, Greece

Poros rises from the Saronic Gulf in pine-green slopes, its waterfront town facing the Peloponnese across a narrow channel. Arrive by sea and step into a harbor lined with cafés, neoclassical houses and fishing boats. Climb to the clock tower for broad views over rooftops and water. Beyond town, shaded roads lead to beaches and the remains of the Temple of Poseidon. Poros rewards a leisurely landing, with mainland excursions just across the strait.

  7. Day 8
