  1. Days 1–3

    Paris City, France

Paris rewards travellers who look beyond its familiar landmarks. Follow the Seine past the Louvre and Notre-Dame; explore streets where cafés, markets and small museums reveal daily life. The Eiffel Tower still commands the skyline, but the best hours are spent walking, with time for lunch. Choose one or two neighbourhoods rather than racing across town; Paris is best experienced at street level.

  2. Day 4

    Rouen, France

Rouen rewards travelers who leave the ship and walk straight into its history. Half-timbered houses line narrow streets, while the soaring cathedral once drew Claude Monet back to paint its changing façade. At the old marketplace, Joan of Arc was executed in 1431; today, a church commemorates her. Pause for Normandy’s butter-rich cuisine, then follow the Seine-side quays for a quieter view of this working port.

  3. Day 5

    Le Havre-Paris, France

Le Havre is more than a gateway to Normandy; it is a city worth seeing in its own right. Rebuilt after wartime destruction under architect Auguste Perret, its striking concrete centre earned UNESCO World Heritage status. Visit the Musée d’Art moderne André Malraux for an exceptional collection of Impressionist paintings, then walk the seafront. Beyond the city, Normandy offers medieval Honfleur, the D-Day landing sites and the abbey at Mont-Saint-Michel.

  4. Day 7

    Duclair, France

Duclair sits on a quieter stretch of the Seine, where river traffic moves past wooded banks and Normandy orchards. Jumièges Abbey, one of the region’s great monastic ruins, is a short drive away. The town is associated with Duclair duck, a distinctive local breed. Rouen’s cathedral, medieval lanes and museums are also within easy reach, making Duclair a calm base between rewarding excursions.

  5. Day 8

    Les Andelys, France

Les Andelys rewards a pause on the Seine, where white chalk cliffs rise above two historic quarters. Above Le Petit-Andely, Richard the Lionheart’s Château Gaillard has watched the valley since the late 12th century. Climb to its ruins for sweeping views, then descend to the riverside lanes and the Gothic church of Notre-Dame. This is Normandy at an unhurried scale: dramatic landscape, medieval ambition and room to explore.

  6. Day 9

    Giverny, France

At Giverny, Claude Monet’s garden is more than a beautiful backdrop; it is the landscape that shaped his art. Follow the flower beds to the Japanese bridge and water-lily pond. Then explore the house where Monet lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. The nearby Musée des Impressionnismes adds context, while the village’s quiet lanes reward an unhurried stroll. Visit between spring and autumn, when the gardens are open and in bloom.

  7. Day 10
