  1. Day 1

    Lautoka, Fiji

Lautoka, Fiji’s second-largest city, sits on Viti Levu’s western coast, where sugar fields meet the Pacific. Known as the Sugar City, it offers a glimpse of everyday Fijian life beyond the resorts. Browse the municipal market, stroll the botanical gardens, or take in the waterfront before heading farther west. Lautoka is also a departure point for excursions to the Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups.

  2. Day 2

    Kadavu Island Fiji (Scenic Stop)

  3. Day 3

    Fulaga Island Fiji (Scenic Stop)

  4. Day 4

    Vavau Islands Tonga, Tonga

Vavaʻu is Tonga at its most navigable: a sheltered archipelago of limestone islands, deep-water passages and quiet anchorages. Neiafu, the principal town, overlooks Port of Refuge, where yachts gather and cafés face the harbor. From July to October, humpback whales arrive to breed, making guided whale-watching a defining experience. Visit Swallows Cave by boat, or explore Neiafu’s market and waterfront on foot.

  5. Day 5

    Haapai Islands Tonga (Scenic Stop)

  6. Day 6

    At Sea (At Sea)

  7. Day 7

    Apia, Samoa

Step ashore in Apia and meet Samoa’s everyday life, from its busy waterfront to markets scented with tropical fruit. The capital sits on Upolu’s north coast, where leafy streets, colonial-era buildings and the harbour define its character. Browse Fugalei Market for produce and handicrafts, then visit the Immaculate Conception Cathedral near the centre. Inland, Robert Louis Stevenson’s former home at Vailima offers a glimpse of the writer’s final years in Samoa.

    • At Sea (At Sea)
  8. Day 9

    Aitutaki Island

Aitutaki’s vast lagoon defines the island: shallow turquoise water, coral reefs and palm-fringed motu. Arutanga’s village roads reveal a quiet, low-lying island of churches, small shops and everyday Cook Islands life. Boat trips reach motu beaches and snorkeling grounds, with One Foot Island a popular stop. Allow time to swim or kayak; the lagoon’s changing blues reward a slower pace.

  9. Day 10

    At Sea (At Sea)

  10. Day 11

    Raiatea Island

Raiatea is French Polynesia’s sacred island, where history still shapes the landscape. At Taputapuātea, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stone marae overlook the lagoon and speak to the island’s spiritual importance. The lagoon draws sailors and snorkellers, while inland, Mount Temehani shelters the rare tiare apetahi, found nowhere else. Raiatea offers a quieter, more grounded view of the Society Islands, best explored slowly by boat or on foot.

  11. Day 12

    Huahine Island

Huahine offers a quieter face of the Society Islands, with forested peaks, clear lagoons and villages set along the coast. Huahine is actually two islands: Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti, joined by a short bridge across a narrow channel. Fare, the principal village, has local shops and a waterfront. At Maeva, ancient marae and stone fish traps reveal Huahine’s Polynesian past. Between stops, look for vanilla plantations and views across the lagoon to coral reefs.

  12. Day 13

    Papeete

Papeete is French Polynesia’s lively capital, set on Tahiti’s northwest coast beneath green volcanic peaks. Its waterfront, central market and shaded streets offer a vivid introduction to island life. Browse the Marché de Papeete for vanilla, pareos and tropical fruit, then pause over poisson cru, Tahiti’s lime-and-coconut-marinated fish. Beyond town, black-sand beaches and waterfalls await, while ferry links make Moorea an easy day trip. Papeete rewards a few hours on foot—and a longer look at Tahiti.
