  1. Day 1

    Benoa, Indonesia

Benoa is Bali’s principal cruise gateway, set on the island’s sheltered southeast coast. From the pier, Bali’s contrasts are close at hand: Nusa Dua’s resorts and Sanur’s seafront. Denpasar offers markets, museums, and a glimpse of daily life beyond the resort belt. Allow time for traffic; journeys inland can take longer than the map suggests. For a deeper excursion, Ubud pairs galleries and rice terraces with a lively arts scene.

  2. Day 3

    Makassar, Indonesia

Makassar is South Sulawesi’s working seaport, where Indonesia’s eastern islands meet a long history of trade. At Fort Rotterdam, Dutch walls surround a fortress built by the Gowa kingdom; the Dutch captured it in 1667. Near Paotere Harbor, wooden pinisi schooners still carry cargo along island routes. Follow the waterfront to taste coto Makassar, a rich beef soup served with rice cakes. This is a city best read through its harbor and table.

  3. Day 6

    Sandakan, Malaysia

On Sabah’s northeast coast, Sandakan offers a compelling introduction to Malaysian Borneo. Visit Sepilok, where rescued orangutans are rehabilitated, and the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. At the Rainforest Discovery Centre, elevated walkways bring you close to the forest canopy. Back in town, explore the central market and waterfront. Sandakan Memorial Park commemorates prisoners of war held here during World War II.

  4. Day 8

    Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan rewards a measured visit with grand mosques, river life and a remarkably calm pace. From Muara, the cruise port, the city lies about 25 kilometres inland. At Kampong Ayer, homes and mosques stand above the Brunei River, in a water settlement whose history reaches back centuries. On shore, the gold-domed Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque anchors the skyline. The Royal Regalia Museum offers a close look at the sultanate’s ceremonial heritage.

  5. Day 10

    Bohol Island Philippines, Philippines

Bohol offers striking landscapes, close-up wildlife and a relaxed coastal finish. From Tagbilaran, the Chocolate Hills rise in rounded formations across the island’s interior. At a responsible sanctuary, you may see the wide-eyed Philippine tarsier resting among the trees. A Loboc River cruise leads through lush scenery; Panglao adds white-sand beaches and clear water. For a change of pace, visit Baclayon Church, one of the Philippines’ oldest stone churches.

  6. Day 11

    Kalanggaman Island Philippines (Scenic Stop)

  7. Day 13

    Manila, Philippines

Manila asks you to look beyond its traffic and modern skyline. Inside Intramuros, Spanish-era walls enclose stone churches, leafy courtyards and Fort Santiago, where Philippine history feels close at hand. Nearby, the National Museum complex displays Filipino art and heritage. Make time for a meal of adobo or fresh seafood, then watch sunset over Manila Bay. This is a port best explored with a clear plan—and room for discovery.
